Dear Young People…
Young adults and Teens don’t always see a place for their voice and their work. They feel unwelcome, perhaps a result of negative messages about youth coming from adults and even the media. Everyone has an opinion about youth ministry. Parents, pastors, and the youth themselves have expectations and demands that don’t always overlap. But the rash of dire statistics about the ineffectiveness of youth ministry has prompted rethinking in these ranks. So we devote one day per week to exploring several issues in youth ministry, including its history, problems, and biblical mandate.
Youth pursue happiness, but the means given by the world—shopping, entertainment, sex, social media—undermine the very endeavor. Pleasure is fleeting. Relations, often only surface deep, get messy quickly. Entertainment can’t provide lasting satisfaction. In the end, happiness in the world is little more than momentary escape from the realities of the world.
Though they are postmodern chronologically, I believe it would also be wrong to say that they are postmodern. Unlike post moderns, they are desperate for a grand story to make sense of the world around them. They want meaning. They are desperate for a true hope.
It’s our hope and vision to learn, discuss and share our ideas as we grow in stature and grace to the fullest potential we are meant to be. Feel free to walk through and share and change a life too. Blessings!

Life is an adventure and we are Teammates!
